Devil's Advocate Mode on...

I see one opinion, and people jumping onto it as if its the Holy Grail. Exaggerating and extrapolating so it fits how they feel about things, with a degree of 20/20 hindsight.

Isn't there a theory that if you get 100 economists in a room, you'll have 100 different opinions?

From my understanding of what happened with Greece for example (and I know I could be wrong, and exaggerating), there's plenty of blame to go around... EU for letting it into the € in the first place (politics), but also successive Greek governments promising voters the Earth (early retirements, over-sized civil service, poor future planning, etc.) and eventually running out of money. Germany doesn't want to break up the EU/€ (politics again) so lends Greece money on its own (political/ideological) terms. I'm not saying austerity is 'right' or 'wrong' as a concept, but if I wanted to help out a friend and they had an expensive dangerous habit, I might insist they stop/reduce it before I lend them any money.

And damn those pesky elites!

Yeah, quite entertaining. He (the Scottish guy ) says a lot of things that are fairly obvious to some but perhaps not to others. The way society is basically fucked up and we should all know the real reasons why because its fucking blatant.
I like the way he explains little things like consequences which tend to happen after actions.....
Taking the long view rather than the short-termism which is more usual.

Untill you can no longer hold a glass without spilling. This is the quaffing hysteresis point where the beer intake is reduced to match the alcohol handling capacity of the imbibing entity.

But is it wrong? to maximize profits. Would we all do our best to max our income? are we all selfish money minded fuckers? When we vote (if we do) do we vote for ourselves "voting for whats best for me" me me me lol. Consumerism is a drug...but I love it!

When it comes to money things get funny: fuck friendship......
